How these picks are made

Today's correct score picks show the single score with the highest chance in PeakyBet's Poisson model. The model uses goal data to compare possible scores for each match. A leading score is only one possible result. It can sit at the top of the list while many other scores, taken together, remain much more likely to happen.

For each team, expected goals blend its season average at 60% with its average from the last five games at 40%. Home and away goal records help describe the match. The estimate is then moved slightly towards the wider league averages: about 1.45 home goals and 1.15 away goals. This helps keep a small set of results from pulling the estimate too far.

Both teams need at least four matches of data before this method applies. The table shows the top score and its percentage under Chance. Exact scores rarely have a chance above 15%, so a modest number is normal here. For a broader view of possible outcomes, compare the Sure Win page; its name does not mean any pick is certain to win.

Use the score as a guide to one possible match result, then consider how much uncertainty the percentage leaves. Yesterday's results make past winning and losing picks public, so you can see how the forecasts compared with the games. Listed odds are market reference prices and may differ at your bookmaker. You must be 18+ to bet, and only stake money you can afford to lose.

Frequently asked questions

What does Chance mean in correct score predictions?

Chance is the model's estimated probability of that exact score. It is not the chance of the team winning by any score. Several different home wins, draws and away wins can all remain possible.

Why are correct score percentages so low?

Percentages are low because the chance is split across many possible scores. Even the leading score rarely goes above 15%. Being the most likely single score still leaves plenty of room for a different result.

How does PeakyBet predict correct scores?

PeakyBet uses a Poisson model based on expected goals. It blends season goal averages with the last five games, then moves the estimate slightly towards wider league averages to reduce the effect of small samples.

Why is there no correct score tip for a match?

The correct score method requires at least four matches of data for each team. If either side is below that minimum, the method does not apply. A missing pick is not a sign of an easy result.
